Science and Technology: Inventions

The history of mankind is the history of constant development and progress. Everything we have today, everything we know, everything we hear or see and everything that surrounds us (except the nature of course) is the result of the centuries of progress of human ideas, thoughts, technologies and science. Development is an integral characteristic of any system, and the human society is a very complex system which is considered by sociologists as the most perfect and inimitable system in the world. Besides, the human mind is also a system: a system of thoughts, ideas, perceptions, fears, aspirations, and so on. So that's why humans are able to constantly change the world around them: we always develop things, ideas, beliefs, political systems, religions, technologies and so on. Human knowledge ordered in the form of hundreds of sciences and disciplines has been able to make constant development of everything possible. Today it's difficult even to find a phenomenon in this world that is not considered by any science. Technology and science have become the driving force of development in general: people create things, substances, new organisms, methods that help them not only to survive in this world but also make this life a lot easier and more interesting. Such things, substances, microorganisms, methods of doing something, cells of animals or plants are called objects of inventions.

Inventions are the solutions that are acknowledged to be new, applicable in practice, useful for various fields of economical activities. Everything that's new and that has all such characteristics should also have a certain inventive level, which means it should not be easily deductible from the existing scientific or technical knowledge. To put it in simpler words, inventions are something that's completely new and that can make this life easier in all spheres of it. According to the laws of many countries, an invention is a sole property of the person who has invented it, although such person also has the right to sell, hand over, or otherwise dispose of it. The rights of an inventor are limited by a certain period, as well as some other rules and restrictions. Usually the documentary evidence of an invention is a patent, i.e. a document which testifies the person's right to the invention. Patents are usually issued by state authorities of the country in which the invention was made.
